Lateral Step Ups

Setup

Stand perpendicular next to a bench or step.

Movement Instructions

Bend your knee of the leg closest to the bench/step and raise it up placing your foot on the bench/step, then push off of that foot and straighten your leg to raise your body up onto the bench/step. Step down with the opposite leg and lower your body back ot the starting position beside the bench/step and repeat, then switch sides and repeat the exercise with the other leg.

Comments

Make sure to push off from the top leg and do not push off at all from the leg still on the ground in order to help. Keep your back upright and straight throughout the movement.
