Dumbbell Bulgarian Split Squats

Setup

Stand holding dumbbells with your back to a bench placed a couple feet behind you, then reach up one leg in behind and place your toes on the bench. Slide your other leg forward until you are in a proper split stance (wide enough that you have to balance between your legs forward and back, but not so wide that it is difficult to balance).

Movement Instructions

Bend your front knee and lower your body straight down until front knee is at 90 degrees, then extend the knee to raise the body back up to the starting position.

Comments

Keep back straight and shoulders directly over hips throughout the movement.
